Market ka jargon shuru hone se pehle, ek street-food ka sauda jismein options ka pura idea baitha hua hai. Samose wali kahani samajh gaye, to aap un bahut se logon se aage nikal gaye jo roz options trade karte hain.

Yeh cheez important kyun hai?

India mein sabse zyada trade hone wala financial product options hi hai. Contracts ki ginti ke hisaab se NSE ka options market duniya mein sabse bada hai. Log options se apni savings ko crash se bachate hain, apne paas pade shares par kiraye jaisi steady income banate hain, aur haan, badi directional bets bhi lagate hain (zyadatar buri tarah).

In sab ke neeche ek hi idea hai: aaj thoda sa paisa dekar ek choice khareed lena, jo baad mein use kar sako. Formula nahi, bas yeh idea theek se samajh lo, aur Part 1 ka baaki hissa jaadu ki jagah seedhi common sense lagne lagega.

Reality check

SEBI ki apni studies kehti hain ki har 10 mein lagbhag 9 individual F&O traders paisa gawate hain. Unmein se zyadatar ne "pehle theek se samjho" wala step chhod diya aur seedha trading shuru kar di. Yeh lesson wahi chhoda hua step hai.

Asli market ka example

200 plates chahiye. 15 din baad, shaadi hai.
1Your cousin's wedding is 15 days away. You want 200 plates from Sharma-ji. Today's rate is ₹100 a plate, so ₹20,000 for the order.
Abhi ₹100. Par 15 din baad tel-aloo mehenga, ₹110 ho sakta hai.
2Sharma-ji is honest about it: oil and aloo are climbing. At ₹110 the same order costs ₹22,000, two thousand more than you planned. And nobody has promised it stops at ₹110.
₹500 abhi do. 15 din tak 200 plates ₹100 pe pakki. Rate ₹150 ho jaye, tab bhi ₹100.
3So he offers a booking. Pay ₹500 today and the ₹100 rate is yours for the full 15 days. Even if plates hit ₹150, you still pay ₹100.
Aur agar rate gir gaya toh?
4"Then cancel. But the ₹500 stays with me." You agree. That booking is an option: you bought the right to buy at ₹100, and you are never forced to order.
Rate ₹150? Meri booking ₹100 ki hai.
5Rates climb to ₹150. Others pay ₹30,000 for 200 plates. You order on your booking and pay ₹20,000. Saved ₹10,000, minus the ₹500 token: ₹9,500 ahead.
Rehne do. Bazaar se hi le lenge.
6Rates fall to ₹90. You cancel and buy in the market for ₹18,000. With the forfeited token that is ₹18,500 in all, still under ₹20,000. Your loss on the deal is the ₹500. Never more.
Maal aaj hi kharid liya. ₹500 mera, risk bhi mera.
7Why does Sharma-ji agree? He takes the ₹500 today and buys his aloo and oil at today's cost, so a ₹150 market cannot hurt him. And most bookings are never used, in which case he simply keeps the token.
8NIFTY at 25,000: the right to buy at 25,000 within the week costs about ₹120 × 65 units = ₹7,800. Small token, locked price, deadline, walk-away right. Sharma-ji would recognise it instantly.

Yaad rakhne wali baatein

Chaar baatein, aur aaj sach mein sirf aakhri wali zaroori hai:

  • Option: woh contract jo apne buyer ko fixed bhaav par kuch kharidne ya bechne ka haq deta hai, obligation nahi, ek deadline tak.
  • Premium: us haq ke liye buyer ka diya hua token, jo wapas nahi aata. Sharma-ji wale ₹500. Aage kuch bhi ho, woh gaya.
  • Buyer vs seller: buyer ke paas choice hoti hai; seller paisa pehle le leta hai aur obligation uthata hai ki poochne par sauda nibhayega.
  • Asymmetry: yahi sabse badi baat hai. Buyer ka nuksan premium par cap hai, aur fayda bada ho sakta hai. Seller bilkul ulta aaina hai: fayda premium par cap, aur nuksan bada ho sakta hai. Koi side "behtar" nahi hai. Yeh do alag trade hain alag odds ke saath, aur Lesson 2 wahin se shuru hota hai.

You cancel the booking and buy at the market rate.
All you lose is the ₹500 token. Never more.

Traders isko kaise use karte hain

Wahi ₹500-token wala structure asli market mein teen imaandar tareeke se chalta hai:

  • Bachav (hedging). Samose mein aapne yahi kiya: bhaav lock kiya kyunki uska chadhna aapko chubhta. Sharma-ji ne bhi hedge kiya, aapke ₹500 lete hi aloo aur tel kharid kar. Investors options isliye kharidte hain taaki market crash unka portfolio na uda de. Yeh options ka asli, insurance jaisa istemal hai. Lesson 8 poora isi par hai.
  • Income. Sharma-ji ban jao. Baar baar buyers se ₹500 ke token lete raho, yeh jaante hue ki zyadatar pandrah din mein bhaav itna hilta hi nahi ki koi sauda use kare. Chhoti chhoti steady jeetein, aur beech beech mein ek dardnaak chot. Lesson 20 aur 21 iske safe version sikhate hain.
  • Direction. Ummeed wale buyer ban jao. Maano ki samose ke bhaav phat padenge, token kharido, aur agar aap sahi nikle to sauda khud keemti ho jaata hai: ₹2.50 per plate ke token par aapko lagbhag ₹50 per plate ka fayda hota hai. Sab log yahi wala istemal pehle karte hain, aur 10 mein se 9 yahin gawate hain.
Reality check

Option apne aap mein na risky hai na safe. Ek hi contract ek haath mein insurance hai aur doosre haath mein lottery ticket. Risk uske istemal, size aur exit mein rehta hai.

Aam galtiyan

  • Premium ko deposit samajh lena. Woh na refund hota hai na adjust. Woh choice ki keemat hai, aur dete hi kharch ho jaata hai.
  • Haq aur obligation ko gadd madd kar dena. Option buyer par kabhi kuch karne ki majboori nahi hoti. Agar majboori mehsoos ho rahi hai, to aap seller ho (ya aapne trade galat padha hai).
  • Sauda sirf jeet wali kahani se aankna. "₹500 se ₹9,500!" sach bhi hai aur virle bhi. Un boring pandrah din ka bhi hisaab lagao. Sharma-ji yahi karte hain, aur stall Sharma-ji ka hai.
  • "Yeh chalta kaise hai" se pehle "kitna kama lunga" poochna. Sawaalon ka yahi ulta order us 10 mein se 9 wale aankde ki jad hai.

Quiz

1. Aapne Sharma-ji ko samose ke saude ke ₹500 diye. Us ₹500 ne asal mein kya khareeda?
2. Shaadi tak samose ke bhaav gir kar ₹90 per plate ho gaye. Aapka best move kya hai, aur total nuksan kitna?
3. Market ki bhasha mein, ₹100 per plate wala locked rate kya kehlata hai?
4. Is saude mein obligation kis par hai?
Next · Lesson 2 · Buyers vs sellers: who really wins. Sharma-ji ne aapke ₹500 badi muskaan ke saath rakh liye. Lesson 2 woh uncomfortable sawaal poochta hai: is saude mein hoshiyar kaun tha, aur asal mein jeetta kaun hai, buyer ya seller?
